Mr & Mrs Sherlock

Lichfield Registry Office & St Johns House | 12-09-2015

I love photographing all my weddings, this one was really special to me though, as Jen is a family friend who looked after my little girl before she started nursery. Jen and Rob make a wonderful couple, they have a very romantic love story of how they both met, in McDonalds, in fact rob often jokes that they should really have had their wedding breakfast there! Luckily Jen managed to talk him out of this so our day started at the fantastic and rather beautiful St Johns House in Lichfield. When we arrived, Jen’s room was a hive of activity as you would expect on her wedding day. She was assisted by her Mum, bridesmaid and best friend Laura, and her daughters Olivia and Amelia. The girls looked stunning in their dusty pink individual bridesmaids dresses, Olivia and Amelia are by no means camera shy, in fact we had so many stunning images of the girls we knew this was going to be an award winning wedding shoot. After Jen had dressed in her gorgeous custom made ivory wedding gown we left the hotel not before meeting Dad on the landing though, i think you can see by the image bellow how overwhelmed he was at seeing his beautiful daughter all ready for her wedding day. The it was off to picturesque Lichfield registry office. I love weddings at this registry office as you have such a lovely park right next door to photograph in. Following the service we took the opportunity to capture some memories in the park, Rob & Jen were joined by family and friends for photographs and congratulations. Then it was back to St Johns for the wedding breakfast, as it was such a beautiful day the happy couple decided to take a 15 min walk back to the venue. Of course we were delighted as it lead to more fantastic photography opportunities. The couple walker through Lichfield City hand in hand, congratulated by the passers by. They even had a quick selfie with their florist Ivison as they passed by the shop. The wedding breakfast was an afternoon style cream tea, complete with finger sandwiches, cakes and scones. The room decor looked subtle and pretty, just like the bride. After lunch the couple shared a few hours in the glorious sunshine, sipping drinks while the children played in the garden next to them. The whole day was perfect. As the sun set the happy couple were joined by family and friends to sing, dance, eat and have fun. Congratulations Jen & Rob, thank you for inviting us to capture your amazing wedding day.
